Mentoring Agreement Example - 4
"XXX Mentoring AgreementThe purpose of this agreement is to help a mentee and mentor decide on guidelines that will be the foundation of their relationship. The two parties can use this document as a starting point for conversations, as well as for a more formal agreement.
This agreement confirms that mentee and mentor are entering into a voluntary Mentoring relationship that we expect to benefit both parties. We want this to be a rich and rewarding experience with the majority of our time spent in substantive development activities. To minimize confusion, frustration, and administrative details, we have noted the following features in this relationship:
Both Parties have discussed the following:
- Frequency of Meetings
- Duration of Meetings
- Location of Meetings (virtual, office, offsite)
- Preferred method of contact (E-mail, MS Teams, phone)
- Mentee’s Primary Objectives
Duration of Mentoring Relationship: A period of 12 consecutive months has been suggested to ensure sufficient time to set and achieve goals. If there is a need to extend the relationship beyond one year, (e.g., additional, or longer-term goals have been identified), you are encouraged to openly discuss extending the relationship with your mentor while being sensitive to their needs.
No-Fault Termination: During the mentorship agreement, it is important that both mentee and mentor communicate openly and honestly to give each other feedback. We will discuss and attempt to resolve any conflicts as they arise. However, if this is not possible, agree to abide by one another’s decision. At that time, the relationship can be terminated, and new relationships can be sought.
Confidentiality: We acknowledge that personal and professional confidences will be treated as such and that the parties will endeavor to maintain a relationship built on mutual trust, respect, and confidentiality. In the event the topic of discussion is related to information disclosed about discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, or any protected class discrimination, which is a violation of Cooper Carry’s Discrimination & Harassment policy, must be reported to Human Resources immediately.
The mentee agrees to be open to feedback that the mentor shares and will respect the insight and experiences shared by the mentor. The mentor agrees to be honest and provide constructive feedback while sharing insight on their own experiences."

The Mentor will offer fresh perspectives, serve as a sounding board, and work with the mentee to solve problems effectively.
- The Mentor will honor the confidentiality guidelines described in this agreement.Mentee’s commitment:
